This page is dedicated to software for the Roland VDrums. There isn’t much, but what is available is pretty amazing.
First things first: there is a software update for the TD-20 kit. The latest version is 1.09 and you can download it from the Roland Support website. Updates for the TD-12 can be found here - the latest version is 1.02.
For custom sounds for the VDrums, the place to visit is V Expressions LTD. It’s not just changes to the sound, its changes to effects, room type and mixer as well.
If you decide to use the sounds from V Expressions LTD, or want to make changes using your computer, the software to get is VDrumLib. It’s great for saving and managing sounds as well.
If you like the sound of the kit I used for the sound clips, I saved two variations of the kit. Feel free to download it. You can use VDrumLib to integrate it to your existing kits. All you need is a Roland formatted CF card (formatting using the TD-20 or whatever model you use).
If there are other software for use with the VDrums and I don’t have it listed here, please let me know so I can update this page.
